Discussions

Instructor Training debrief

The instructor training session attended in early September included a lot of people from one organization. The agenda skipped some task-specific episodes to include more information about The Carpentries.

Workshop planning

The Reproducible Data Science workshop site is available. Registration is open and has a high cap, in the hope that we’ll have 20-25 reliably attending all three sessions. Location will be Price Computing Center Auditorium, with the tech check tentatively scheduled for 9/24.

Sequence will be Shell (9/29), Git (10/01), and Code Review with GitHub (10/03). Discussed possibility of needing more helpers for some topics, depending on how well attended the workshop is. Folks will reach out to potential helpers in their networks.

Discussion topics

Discussed possible future workshop scheduling tactics, such as choosing a regular, rotating set of topics. Curiosity about how far in advance workshops get planned and how long it takes to launch one.
